Transport and Accommodation

Transport

Driving

Please try and car pool if you can. Let us know if you are looking for a lift or have spare spaces in your car by posting a comment on the carpooling site.

Directions for how to get to ANU by car can be found here.

ANU is easy to find as it is close to the main road and well signposted : you turn off Northbourne Avenue into Barry Drive, and either park near the ANU Food Coop on Kingsley Street, or turn into ANU proper at the main entrance on Barry Drive. If you enter here, veer to the left about 20 metres after entering, and follow the concrete spheres until you reach a carpark that is close to the student union.

On Friday and Monday during the day you will have difficulty parking on the grounds, and will need to 'park and ride' public transport from a fair way away. However on weekends it is relatively easy to park on campus.

Trains

Check out the Countrylink website for details of trains. If you want to join the crew from Melbourne who are catching the train up together on Friday, get in touch with Shaun at westsax[a]westnet.com.au

Buses

Greyhound buses services both Sydney and Melbourne. The bus takes about 3.5 hours from Sydney and 8-10 hours from Melbourne.

 Murrays coaches also service Sydney.

Flying

Canberra domestic airport is located approximately 30min drive from ANU.

The Airliner bus service, operated by Deanes Buslines, transfers passangers between Canberra Airport and the City Bus Interchange (5 minutes walk from the ANU) for $9 per trip. The service runs approximately every 30 minutes on weekdays and every hour on weekends until 6pm.
