Proposals
The Climate Action Summit is calling for policy and network amendment proposals to be discussed and tested for support at the Summit.
How do I make a proposal?
You should submit your policy proposal to the Summit organising collective via the email address 2010climatesummit[at]gmail [dot] com
Your proposal should indicate your name, your climate action group (if applicable) and a brief outline of the policy. It should be no more than 150 words and contain a short title for the proposal to allow it to be referred to easily.
Policy proposals
In 2009, a dedicated policy working group developed a comprehensive policy document which was circulated for sign ons by climate action groups. The purpose of the policy process this year to is make any changes or additions to that document. If you intend on making a policy proposal, please read this document. We will only be considering proposals that are not already in the document.
Policy proposals can be submitted up until 4.30pm Sunday 14 March 2010.
If you make a policy proposal, it will be made available for Summit participants on a notice board at the Summit venue. People making similar statements will be encouraged to merge their proposals where appropriate. As was the case with the 2009 Summit, policy will be tested for support at the Climate Summit only, and afterwards be circulated for climate action groups for sign on.
Network proposals
If you want to make a network amendment proposal please submit it to the Summit organising collective via the email address 2010climatesummit[at]gmail [dot] com. It will be discussed in the network workshop on the first day of the Summit , and put to the Summit for a decision at the decision making plenary on Saturday afternoon.
These amendments will be published on the Climate Summit website forum page prior to the Summit.
Network amendments can be submitted until Saturday 13 March 2010 at 3pm.
What happens after the Summit?
Any network proposals that have received assent at the Summit will be circulated to all network members (not all of whom will be at the Summit) for final ratification.
Policy additions will be merged into an amended policy document, and the Community Climate Network will circulate the amended policy document for sign on by climate action groups.
